The corruption case involving the acquisition of driving simulators has caused some tension between the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) and the National Police. On Tuesday last week, the KPK chairman had to stay all night, to stand by his staff who raided the Police Traffic Division. The situation was quite tense. "I am willing to forgo traveling to my hometown [for Lebaran]," the KPK chairman, 46-year-old Abraham Samad, told Tempo last week. "Leadership is needed at such times, and we stand united." Excerpts:
