Alberth Prawar, a member of the Gema Chandra Cendrawasih University Choir, said that their late arrival was caused by problems with funding. "We just received the money on July 11," he said. That was just three days before the competition would be over. But the 49 members of the group, who had been waiting in Jakarta for a week, decided to keep going and boarded a plane to the United States.
