A section of a poetic prayer, "Ya Allah biha ya Allah biha ya Allah bi khusnil khatimah," was heard solemnly throughout the Pondok Pesantren (Islamic boarding school) Al-Ashriyyah Nurul Iman in Parung subdistrict of Bogor, West Java. After sunset on Thursday two weeks ago, most of the senior students devotedly repeated the prayer, which asks that the deceased be in a good state. The prayer, written by Sheik Muhammad al-Bushiri, reminded the students of Habib Saggaf bin Mahdi bin Syekh Abubakar bin Salim, the founder of the boarding school.
